About Us

pictureMy name is Buddy Wright. I guess you can say I am the leader of this outfit. I’ve been a musician all my life, what I can remember anyway. When I was born, the nurses told my mom I hummed while in the nursery. Growing up, I was exposed to a lot of styles of music. Blues to jazz, classical, country, and Irish music. The first time I saw a fiddler, I said, “I can do that.” So I did. Performing on instruments came easy to me and my sister. More easily than most others. My mom says that God has given us an extra measure of ability in the music and intelligence department. I play a multitude of instruments and so does my sister.  From the piano, fiddle, mandolin, didgeridoo, bodhrán, drums, guitar, bass, pennywhistle, cat—just kidding.

My name is Tina Wright. I am the brains of this outfit. When I was little, my orchestra teacher told my mom that only twice in her life had she ever met anyone with perfect timing, and I was one of those people. I always was complemented with some sort of special ability or other. My brother and I were filmed in a CNN documentary entitled “Child Prodigies.” At age 8, I won the SMU Symphonic Music award for Classical Violin. For me, I just do what I do. I could play any instrument someone gave me. As a matter of fact, that is how I learned to play an instrument; people saw me playing one and then they’d bring another and say, “Now, can you play this one?” We would jam for hours with different people like my grandma, some Texas players, anybody.

pictureI am Ray Wright, the father of Buddy and Tina. I collected all sorts of instruments as a young adult. When my children discovered them, they would play on them. They were just that way. They would teach themselves different songs they heard on a daily basis. There was never a lack of music in my home or car because Buddy would even bring his guitar in the car sometimes. My wife, Pat, helped nurture and develop my children to become who they are today.

Hi everyone. I'm Pat Wright. I homeschooled Buddy and Tina all their school-age days. They were extraordinary learners and did very well. They have been featured in several documentaries, newspapers, and magazine articles on child prodigies. They love music, especially old-time music, which I think is a wonderful thing. They are a special bunch.
